You may wonder: what happens to your hair when you send it off in a ziploc bag and envelope? Various organizations can list their donation process so you can understand what happens to it and how it becomes a wig. I wrote a separate post about how a wig is made, but this post will include a documentary following the journey of Maria Alvarez who decided to document her hair donation as well as the receiving end for Kenzie, a child suffering from Alopecia since she was 9 months old. It really puts into perspective what a hair donation can be for a child and how it makes a great impact. There are other organizations that also have their own videos on their websites to document the process but this is a more personal and touching documentary that shows true emotion and the perspective of both sides.
